For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows grace and favor and glory - honor, splendor and heavenly bliss! No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

Aloha Friday! Sick Days

From An Island Life:

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you'd like to participate with your own question on your own blog, head on over to An Island Life to link up and join the fun!

We're all sick at the moment with colds so I thought a good 2 part question for today would be What is your most HATED cold symptom? And what is your most trusted cold remedy?

Me? I hate it that when I have sinus pressure my brain turns into mashed potatoes and I can barely form a coherent thought. Remembering that the milk goes into the refrigerator and not the freezer becomes very challenging. My go-to cold remedy is Robitussin. I hate it, I think it tastes nasty, but it seems to do the job for me so I take it anyway.

I hate when a cold goes right to my voice. I use a tea called throat coat....seems to help a little.

I've been raving about vitamins lately... B-12 complex and Vitamin C at the first sign of a cold. Amazing results!! Hope you feel better soon!

Worst symptom - when the infection goes into my throat and I can't swallow. UGH.

Favorite remedy: 1 T. honey, 1 tsp. lemon juice in 8 oz. of hot water. Om nom nom. I let my daughter (2) drink as much as she wants when she's sick. It beats being dehydrated!!

I hate when my nose is so stuffed that I have to breath through my mouth when I sleep. Then I wake up and my throat is sore. I have not yet found a way to help with that.

My Aloha Friday :)

Sorry you guys are sick. I hate the sinus pressure and fatigue. My cold remedy is Zicam. As soon as I feel the symptoms coming on, I do start it and it really does wonders for me. Saves me alot of sick days.

Not being able to breathe at night with a stuffy nose.

Metholatum (no idea on the spelling there) works wonders for me!

Coughing! I have asthma & coughing can get really annoying when I'm sick!

My inhaler is my best friend then. Oh & saline nasal solution. Love the stuff.

Hope you guys feel better quickly.

I hate the sore throats, but zicam seems to help me not get sick!

I hate the coughs. Sleep tends to help. For the cough only codiene will help.

I hate the asthma that can happen during my colds. Love my trusty inhaler!

Lets see...I HATE when you wake up in the morning and your throat is on fire because your nose has been running back there all night. IT takes at least an hour to go away, and of course that's the busiest hour of the day (wakeup, get babies, feed babies, feed toddler, change EVERYONE). Ouch.

I also hate that itchy cough you get as the cold is going away. I could ignore it all day, but as soon as I lie down for bed, it's ALL I can think about.

Sorry you've been sick!

I hate it when I feel like I am going to sneeze constantly...seriously it is like torture.

Sudafed works best for me...helps drain out the congestion and relieves the pressure. But when my nose is "sneezy" like I mentioned above, Nasalcrom nose spray is the only thing that helps.

I don't like coughing at night.

I'm a big fan of the honey/lemon drink.

I hope you all get better soon!
