For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows grace and favor and glory - honor, splendor and heavenly bliss! No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

My Weekly Meal Plan

I noticed yesterday (I know, I'm a little slow) that a lot of folks post their weekly meal plans. I think this is kind of an interesting exercise, so I thought I'd share mine too. I realize that most of you have already done your grocery shopping for the week, so I'm sorry if this doesn't help you at all. Maybe you can steal some of my ideas for your meals for NEXT week. I'm not promising that I'll provide you with meal ideas every week, unless you all proclaim that I must because my meal ideas are so fantastic. In which case, I might consider it. :)

Don't ya just love how decisive I am?!

Hubs loves that about me too... (I'm being sarcastic!)

Maybe I'll post something more exciting later today, for those of you who are already groaning and thinking, "Not another blogger who posts her weekly meal plan!!!"

Again, I live for feedback, and if this is a horrible idea please tell me, and maybe I'll never do it again.

For those who are interested, I never assign meals to days. Simply because I am so indecisive and I usually just decide that morning which meal I'm going to make that night off my list of possible choices.

And how do I get my meal ideas? Well I read a lot of blogs, and I often swipe meals from them. I also look into my fridge, see what I have in the way of ingredients that MUST be used the following week, do recipe searches by ingredient online, and find cool new and interesting things to make. I've been using this method of meal planning for about a month now and I'm having a lot of fun with it. It's become almost a sort of game to me, looking in the fridge or pantry and thinking, "Hmmm... I wonder what I could make with ________." I try very hard not to make the same foods all the time, so I'll often try to make multiple recipes using the same ingredient. Just for kicks. Last week I made 3 meals using chipotle peppers. Just because I had them on hand, and I thought it would be fun.

So without further adieu, here are my meals for this week:

Yesterday: Gnocchi with chicken & vodka sauce and stuffed mushrooms. (I had never had gnocchi before, but I saw them at Walmart and thought the girls might like them. Turns out Hubs and I aren't fans, but it was worth a try. I had a pound of mushrooms that HAD to be used, hence the stuffed 'shrooms. I used about 1/3 of the cheese the recipe called for to cut out calories, we didn't miss it at all. I also used canned clams, which I was VERY skeptical of, but they turned out great!)

Today: Curried Sweet Potato & Carrot Soup w/ build your own pannini's and broccoli. (The soup is from my new crock pot book, it's in cooking right now in fact! I'll share the recipe here if it's any good.)

Two Meals for either Wednesday or Friday:
Chicken Masala w/ cauliflower & basmati rice.

and

Greek BBQ Chicken (using Mystery Spices: to be shared on Monday, stay tuned!) w/ tomato cucumber salad & pita bread.

Thursday: I'm headed to a potluck with my Mother's of Multiples group. It's a baked potato topping bar pot luck. So I'm bringing another meal from my new crock pot book: Taco Dip. I'll share it here in the future, stay tuned.

Saturday & Sunday we usually eat out or eat leftovers.

I'm pretty excited about my meals this week! And I can't wait to share some of them with you.

Hey I saw your blog because I was over on Laura's site today. Then when I saw you were talking about food - well thought I say hello. I've been changing up our menu a lot at our house. Trying to make more food from scratch or whole foods than I have in the past. So I always love to hear what other moms are finding to make.
God Bless

I'd love to see your meal plans! I find myself in a rut all the time, making the same meals, so it's nice to have inspiration from someone else.
